David Ankcorn ('01) and his wife, Jennifer,
welcomed a new baby boy to their family in February.
Gregory Bearce ('74) received the Outstanding
Mentor Award from the California Association of Homes and Services
for the Aging. He is currently Executive Vice President for Southern
California Presbyterian Homes.
Wesley Brown ('57) and Cheryl Brown
will be leaving Prague on Sept. 3 and moving to Pilgrim Place in
Claremont, Calif.
Everett Curry ('67) retired as Director
of Planned Giving at Linfield College on June 30. He has created
a consulting firm, Barnabas & Co., working with congregations
and not-for-profit organizations.
Eldon Ernst, Distinguished Senior Professor of
American Church History, was recognized in April as a distinguished
alumnus by Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, N.Y.
Desmond Hoffmeister ('01) was named
Interim Executive Minister of the American Baptist Churches of the
Rocky Mountains. He began July 1st.
Richard Ice ('55) celebrated 50 years
of ordination at First Baptist Church in Oakland, California on
May 9.
Keith Martin ('04) was ordained on May
30 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Oakland, Calif.
John Polite ('97) was elected Vice President
of Communications for the ABC Ministers Council.
Daniel Pryfogle ('01) was ordained on
June 20 at Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church, Oakland, Calif. Daniel
was named Interim Director of the Association of Welcoming &
Affirming Baptists in April.
Victoria Schlintz ('02) was appointed
Pastor of Atwater United Methodist Church in Atwater, Calif., on
July 1.
Nancy Smith ('03) became Interim Pastor
of First Baptist Church in Oakland on June 1.
Robert Sturdivant ('96) married Jennifer
Lynn Cassetty on Aug. 7.
Richard Sutterlin ('49) is now the Interim
Pastor at the Community Baptist Church of Mud Lake in Idaho.
