Gary Barmore ('67, '72 ) retired after 25 years
of ministry from Fairview Community Church, Costa Mesa, Calif.,
on Dec. 31, 2000. He was bestowed the title of pastor emeritus and
will continue to teach religious studies at Orange Coast College.
Wesley Brown ('57 ) will be on home assignment from
July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002.
Kimberly Jo Brown ('88) serves as the director of
the Health Project for Tribal People, AIDS education and home care
programs with International Ministries and the Thailand Karen Baptist
Convention in Chiangmai, Thailand.
Carl Locke ('41) and his wife, Wilma, moved to a
new apartment at Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley, Colo.,
and are in good health.
Vivan Martindale ('72) began a new position as senior
pastor of Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth, N.H., in December
1999 after 19 years of ministry in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Robert Rathbun ('64, '95) announced his plans to
retire from Grace Baptist Church of Portland, Ore.
Michael Ross Sr. ('99) has accepted a call to St.
Paul Baptist Church of Boise, Idaho.
Tandy Sullivan ('74 ) retired Jan. 31, 2001, as CEO/president
of Atherton Baptist Homes of Alhambra, Calif., after 16 years of
service.
Michael-Ray Matthews ('98) was ordained April 29,
2001, at Trinity Baptist Church, Los Angeles. Participating in the
service were alumni Robert A. Wilkins ('88), Samuel Chetti
('97), John Polite, III ('97), and Stephen Langley ('78).
Albirda J. Rose-Eberhardt ('99) was ordained at Saint
Paul Tabernacle Baptist Church in San Francisco on May 27, 2001.
