ABSW-ALUMS TEACHING AT SUMMER SESSION
Two seminary alums are teaching courses in the GTU Cooperative Summer Session.
Dr. Rodney Romney (’60) is teaching “Spiritual Formation for Pastoral
Leaders” July 1-5. Romney served American Baptist churches in Oakland
and Seattle for more than 40 years.
Dr. Warren H. Stewart (’82), senior pastor of First Institutional Baptist
Church in Phoenix, Ariz., is teaching “An Introduction to Hermeneutics
in Preaching the Word” Aug. 5-9. Stewart is chair of ABSW’s board
of trustees.
Also teaching at the GTU this summer is ABSW’s professor of preaching, Dr. J. Alfred
Smith Sr. Smith will teach “A Friendly Learning Approach to Preaching Without Notes” July 15-19.
ABSW itself will offer three summer courses: “Foundations of Christian Theology,” taught by Dr. George C.L. Cummings, July 8-19; “Worship in the Free Church Tradition,” taught by Dr. Nancy E. Hall, July 8-19; and “Marriage and Family Counseling in Multicultural Contexts,” taught by Dr. Brian Owyoung, July 8-19.
