Symposium to Explore Asian Ministerial Issues
Abroad range of Asian American Christian leaders will gather in
Berkeley in April to explore the trends and challenges in Asian
American ministerial leadership today.
A preliminary report of the Asian American Pulpit and Pew Project
will be presented at the three-day symposium, April 22-24. Congregational
leaders, professors, and representatives from leading Asian American
theology and ministry centers will reflect on the report and share
their insights.
The symposium is hosted by the Asian American Center at ABSW along
with the Institute for Leadership Development & Study of Pacific
and Asian North American Religion (PANA) and the Graduate Theological
Union.
The preliminary report is the fruit of more than a year of study
by a team of recognized scholars of Asian American Christianity.
The project is a collaborative effort by the Lilly Endowment-funded
Pulpit and Pew Project at Duke Divinity School, the Asian American
Center at ABSW, PANA, and the L2 Foundation.
The symposium will be held at ABSW. Registration is $50. To register,
contact Jane Gonzalez at 510-841-1905 ext. 222.
