SPIRITUALITY THEME AT ASIAN CENTER SYMPOSIUM
The Asian American Center at ABSW co-sponsored a symposium on “Chinese
American Christian Spirituality” on June 7-8.
Dr. Timothy Tseng, ABSW’s associate professor of American
religious history, sociologist Fenggang Yang, Old Testament scholar
Jeff Kuan, and New Testament scholar Sze Kar Wan challenged Chinese
American Christians to engage more deeply their cultural-historical
experiences.
Respondents Dr. Carolyn Chen, the Rev. Louis Lee, Dr. Wing Ning
Pang, Dr. Lawrence Chan, and over 60 participants generated a lively
conversation. The symposium, moderated by the Rev. Dr. Victor Chan,
was co-sponsored by the Chinese Bi-Cultural Studies Program at the
Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, N.Y.
