Wally Bryen (2005) was ordained Feb. 11, 2007, at Oakland's Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church in partnership with Grace Baptist Church of San José.
Kent Harrop (trustee) was installed as president of the Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) in May. Harrop is pastor of First Baptist Church, McMinnville, Ore.
William Hasker (1950) will be a speaker at the first Open Theology & Science seminar, June 15-July 6, at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass.
Paul E. Howard (1947, '48) and wife, Myrtle, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 20, 2006, at a reception hosted by their three sons.
Hubert H. Huntley (1955) was presented the 2006 Paul Taylor Pastoral Care Award last September by the Montana Pastoral Care Association. The award is given for excellency in promoting chaplaincy in the region.
Richard E. Ice (1955) celebrated the debut of the new Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. The renovation was funded with a gift from Ice memorializing his late wife. The dedication of the new auditorium was held on Nov. 8, 2006, in conjunction with the Linfield Chamber Orchestra's first concert of the season. Ice is a 1952 graduate of Linfield.
Michael-Ray Mathews (1998) and Rick Mixon (1973) are board members for the Alliance of Baptists.
Lawrence R. Odegard (1952) wants to say "Happy Anniversary" to the class of 1952, which is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year.
Carlton A. Rhoden (2005) was ordained and installed as pastor of First Baptist Church of Los Angeles
Jan. 20, 2007. He is the first African-American
pastor in the church's 132-year history.
Douglas Saxby's (1957) wife, Margaret, died on
May 1, 2007.
Victoria Schlintz (2002) sends her greetings and reports that her ALS progresses slowly. She continues as pastor of Atwater United Methodist Church in Atwater, Calif.
Gregg Sneller (1985) is now senior pastor of Grant Park Baptist Church in Grant Park, Ore.
Warren H. Stewart Sr. (1982), senior pastor of First Institutional Baptist Church of Phoenix, Ariz., was the 2007 Hoskins Visitor at Yale Divinity School in April. He spoke on the "E&E Connection," his vision of church renewal that is rooted in evangelism and emancipation.
Belinda D. Thomas and Melinda D. Thomas (2006) were ordained Feb. 18, 2007, at Peniel Baptist Church in El Sobrante, Calif.
John Townsend (1957) was the baccalaureate speaker for the University of Redlands' 100th anniversary in May. He served 18 years as a trustee for the Redlands, Calif., school.
