ALLEN TEMPLE ALUMS GIVE BACK

Over the years, Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland has nurtured many individuals into ministry and sent them to ABSW for theological training. Many of these leaders have been assisted by financial scholarships. To express their gratitude, members of the Allen Temple ABSW Alumni have made it their goal to help future students by raising funds each year for the ABSW Scholarship Fund.

Since 2003, the Allen Temple ABSW Alumni have contributed over $8,000 to the scholarship fund.

They want to encourage other alums to do the same.“The members of the our alumni chapter expressed an interest in seeing their efforts publicized in order to be encouraged to redouble their efforts and to recruit others to support our seminary,” says the Rev. Dr. J. Alfred Smith Sr., pastor, seminary professor and alumnus (M.Th., 1984).

Members of the Allen Temple Alumni chapter include: Jeanne Thomas (president), Charlene Alexander, Regina Alexander, Daphne Browne, Eunice Tina Bryant, Doris Casey-Jackson, Sheryl Davis, Pat Gardner, Brenda Guess, Anthony Lloyd, Harold Orr, Barbara Smith, Dorothy Staples, Malvina Stephens, Ramona Tascoe, Martha Taylor, Linda Walton, Mary Washington, Nannette Walker, Julia Calhoun, L.P. Lewis, and Robert Wilkins.
