Victor Arceneaux ('04) was licensed on Jan.
19 at Church By the Side of the Road, Berkeley, Calif.
J Witcomb Brougher Jr. ('26) and Herschell Daney
('56) were featured in the recent issue of ABC People, published
by the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board.
Wesley ('57) and Cheryl Brown attended
the Baptist International Conference on Theological Education in
July 2002 in Seville, Spain, sponsored by the Baptist World Alliance.
John Caylor ('45) celebrated his 80th birthday
on Nov. 30 with an open house for family and friends.
Susan Criscione ('02) began Jan. 1 as pastor
of First Baptist Church, Beverly, Mass.
Janet Ewing ('89) is working for AmeriCorps
as a VISTA volunteer for the African American Health Coalition,
which recently celebrated the 7th Annual Wellness Village.
Gaylord Hasselblad ('53) just completed a term
on the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering Advisory Committee
of the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board.
Thomas Hutson ('60) became the permanent part-time
pastor of First Baptist Church in Buena, Wash., on Nov. 1 after
nine years of retirement.
Richard E. Ice ('55) was honored by The Terraces
of Los Gatos during the 10th anniversary celebration of the retirement
community with the naming of The Richard Ice Conference Room. Ice
was president of the American Baptist Homes of the West during its
10 years of development and construction of The Terraces.
Joseph D. Johnson ('02) has begun three months
of training in Newport, R.I., to be a Navy chaplain.
Charles Long ('72) retired after 33 years as
pastor of Athens Baptist Church in Los Angeles on Oct. 31.
David Morris ('72) was installed as pastor of
Community United Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles on Aug. 18.
Rogelio Ovalle ('02) was recently elected Men's
Director for the Assemblies of God, with responsibility for the
Western states.
Kristen Preston ('97) was ordained on Nov. 10
at the First Baptist Church, Sacramento, Calif.
James Stewart's ('62) wife, Loma,
passed away on Dec. 11.
