Victor Arceneaux (2004), Harold Orr (2006), Ramona Tascoe (2006), Marlene Jones Taylor (2007), and Vernola Williams (2005) were ordained on Oct. 15 at Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland.
Margaret Ann Cowden (1975) has announced her retirement effective June 30, 2007, from National Ministries, American Baptist Churches USA.
Charles Handren (1999) was recently hired as the Church Planting Resident at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Minn.
Paul Howard (1947, 1948) and wife Myrtle celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 20 at a reception hosted by their three sons.
Hubert Huntley (1955) was presented the 2006 Paul Taylor Pastoral Care Award on Sept. 21 by the Montana Pastoral Care Association. The award is for excellency in promoting chaplaincy in the region.
Joseph Johnson (2002) began serving the Marines as a Navy chaplain-missionary in Iraq this past August and will end in March 2007.
France Marcott (2006) was installed on Sept. 24 as pastor of Signposts, a new church start in Concord, Calif. She is also serving as interim of Chestnut Avenue Community Church in Concord.
Valerie Miles-Tribble (2001) and Martha Taylor (2002) are teaching in the doctor of ministry program at San Francisco Theological Seminary.
Randle "Rick" Mixon (1973, 1995) became senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Palo Alto on July 9.
Lauren Ng-Kushner (2005) was ordained on Oct. 1 at the First Chinese Baptist Church of San Francisco.
Robert Paulus (1962) and wife Gloria celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their families this past August. Bob continues to be a volunteer pastor and teacher at the Hope Lutheran Church in San Mateo, Calif.
Melinda and Belinda Thomas (2006) opened the doors of Rheema Ministries, a new church start in Oakland on Oct. 1. Melinda also made a presentation on "twin
theology" for the Graduate Theological Union panel presentation "Discovering Women and Religion in the Bay Area."
Carlton Rhoden (2005) was called as pastor of First Baptist Church of Los Angeles. He began his ministry on Oct. 1.
Nancy Smith (2003) was installed on Nov. 5 as the first female pastor in the 151-year history of First Baptist Church of Oakland.
