SPECIAL STUDIES IN JANUARY

ABSW will offer three special courses during the January intersession.

Well-known author and activist Ched Myers will teach "Sabbath Economics in Luke's Gospel." Offered in cooperation with Myers' Bartimaeus Cooperative Ministries, the course will focus on the economy of grace in Luke.

"Introduction to Healthcare Chaplaincy" will explore the chaplain's role in acute situations. The course is helpful for students anticipating their first unit of clinical pastoral education (CPE).

"Urban Plunge: Exploring San Francisco and Oakland" will introduce students to multiple models of urban ministry. The course is offered in conjunction with Bakke Graduate University as part of ABSW's new D.Min. program (see story). M.Div. students may also enroll.

All three classes meet Jan. 22-26. To register, call 510-841-1905.
