SCHOOL MAKES STAFF CHANGES
ABSW has made a series of staff changes in recent months. Regina Pridgeon was promoted
to controller. Vice President Michelle Holmes has returned to seminary advancement. The
Rev. Dr. Sangyil Park was appointed director of
the new doctor of ministry program. And Ph.D.
student Dante Quick has been named ABSW's
first doctoral intern.
In her new position as controller, Pridgeon is accountable for the financial operations of the seminary. She also serves as director of housing.
Pridgeon joined the staff in 1997 as accounting manager. Previously, she worked for Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, the City of Berkeley Fire and Emergency Services, and the U.S. Postal Service. Pridgeon earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting from San Jose State University.
Holmes managed institutional advancement before heading up business operations. She now returns to oversee the work of seminary relations, student recruitment, and fund development. A staff member for 16 years, Holmes received her M.Div. from ABSW in 1996.
Park is managing the doctor of ministry program slated to begin in January. In addition to his administrative duties, he co-teaches the middler colloquium with Sharon Betsworth, Ph.D. candidate.
An ordained minister of the United Methodist Church, Park is pastor of the Concord Korean United Methodist Church in Concord, Calif., and president of the Association of Korean American Churches in Contra Costa County. He received his Ph.D. in preaching from the Graduate Theological Union, M.Div. from Drew University, M.Th. and B.Th. from Methodist Theological Seminary, Seoul, Korea, and B.S. from Ajou University, Suwon, Korea.
Quick, a Ph.D. student in systematic theology at the Graduate Theological Union, is assisting Dr. James Chuck in Constructive Theology. In the spring, he will be a teaching assistant in the Junior Colloquium.
Quick received his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and his bachelor's degree from Morehouse College. In addition to his studies, Quick has been active in several faith-based organizations and is currently a consultant with PRAXIS, Inc., which assists churches and organizations on faith-based programmatic initiatives.
